1/10 GP Serpent Competition Chassis

Description

The frame is made of 3-mm-thick 7075-T6 aluminum and has been improved in terms of flex characteristics

It is equipped with a new Lassi bridge, featuring vibration isolation—a feature already used on its bigger sister, the 989.

For the front, you can also use a small adjustable weight, which is particularly useful in high-grip conditions

At the rear, we now have two options for pivot width. The default position is the same as on the 750, while the wider option is similar to that of the 748

The new rear suspension is completely new. It allows for a change in toe angle during suspension travel.
Due to its unique design, there is no linkage under any circumstances

In the neutral position, the top-out travel is absolutely zero. In this position, the rear end behaves like the classic rear end of the 750.

The higher the link is mounted on the strut, the greater the camber gain achieved during compression, resulting in higher rear traction during acceleration

The new front arms are open-style for aerodynamic reasons. They feature mounting points for an optional shooting shock absorber

The 2-speed transmission is completely new. It is based on the 989 transmission and is bulletproof

A much longer ramp for the roller prevents second gear from locking up even with excessive wear on the shoes

M4 adjustment screws for gap adjustment to maintain a constant gap

Two bearings in the second-gear “bell” for improved rotational precision and balance

The second-speed adapter is locked in place to prevent jamming and ensure consistent motor and gearbox performance

A new flexible cover provides a force-free stiffening rod

New shock absorbers and shock towers. These shock absorbers are derived from the 989 and provide smooth, low-friction operation for enhanced traction

The piston is secured to the shaft with a nut. No clips or shims.

In addition, we’ve paid close attention to the lower seal. Two X-rings and a long seal provide that tight, low-friction seal that keeps oil in and dirt out

The hard-anodized bushings ensure 100% secure positioning of the upper front suspension mounts

As an option, the 989 offers shock absorber adjustment at both the front and rear.

This makes it possible to adjust the compression settings more or less independently of the rebound settings.
For example, it’s possible to have very light roll damping combined with very high lift damping, which isn’t possible with a conventional suspension.
The third shock absorber can be used not only to adjust damping characteristics without a third spring, but also to add a spring to adjust the seat lift rates.
Front and rear suspension kits are available as options.

Another option is a rigid side guard for the body
